RULES & REGULATIONS
1.) All entries will be subject to the general rules and regulations
of the Junior Livestock Show.
2.) Exhibitor must be a 4-H, FFA or FCCLA member and continuously attend
school in Nacogdoches County or be home
schooled and reside within the boundaries of a school district in Nacogdoches County and be at the 12th grade level or
below from validation through the end of the show.
3.) All barrows must have been validated on Saturday, June 23, 2007,
at Expo Center between 6-10 a.m.
4.) All hogs that enter the Piney Woods Fairgrounds must go to slaughter.
5.) Barrows will be weighed and validation forms checked October 11,
2007 from 3-6 p.m., one time across the scales—
Weight Range 220-270 lbs. They will be classed and sifted by weight. (Only 1 barrow per exhibitor weighed in)
6.) Entries will be divided as evenly as possible by weight with a minimum of 12 head per class.
7.) Natural color and or pattern of barrow may not be altered.
8.) A minimum of four top placing barrows in each class will be weighed
following the class. Any barrow weighing more
than ten lbs. over official weigh-in weight will be disqualified from
the premium sale.
9.) Judging begins @ 8:00 a.m. Saturday concluding with the selection of Grand and Reserve Champions followed by the
sale order selection of class winners and other remaining placing premium sale barrows. The Premium Sale will be held
Saturday, October 13, 2007 at 6 p.m.
10.) Showmanship will be a jackpot with a $5 entry fee. Pay 2 places for Junior
& Senior Division.
Showmanship Divisions:
13 AND UNDER - Junior
14 AND OVER - Senior
Pee Wee Showmanship - No entry fee
(5-8 Yrs. Old and not entered in this show)
11.) Each exhibitor must exhibit his/her entry in showmanship classes, pee
wee must use barrow entered in show.
12.) A market resale will not be held; each exhibitor is responsible for the
resale of their animal and for the care of their animal
until it reaches final destination. All animals must be removed from grounds by noon Sunday, October 14th.
13.) Shavings will be purchased from Expo Center. No other type of bedding
will be allowed.
14.) Barrows will be disqualified for (a) ear notch differs from validation
form (b) description of barrow differs from validation
form ( c ) failure to provide proper documentation and signatures
on validation form.
